the back of the seat is the front of the trunk. To remove the rear seat back you first have to remove the two bolts just under bottom seat assembly. Bolts are located at the botton of lower seat, about between your ankles if you were sitting in the seat, one on each side. Then remove bottom seat assembly. Then remove seatbelt bolts that hold seat back assembly, lift straight up on seat back and remove.
The only why to repair the seat belt (retractor) is to replace the assembly,no parts are available to rebuild this assembly.

Just short of an expert dropping by, I'll offer my "esteemed" opinion: I don't think it matters - as long as it fits I'd go with any available belt assembly.
The optimum way is to remove (unscrew with a seat wrench) the seat and replace it. A seat cutter tool may be used to refinish the seat in place.
