Yes. The only software needed is iTunes (or a similar alternative, see below) which is cross-platform and runs on all Windows and Mac computers.
If you don't like Itunes, try Foobar2000 - http://www.foobar2000.org - or just Google "iTunes alternatives" and you will come up with many results.
I hope this helped!
Jack update: You can find iTunes alternative and free iPod Manager here: http://ipodmanagers.blogspot.com
how do connect and use my ipod with my dell laptop
use a usb charge cable....but, i just tried to transfer pictures from dell laptop to ipod tablet that way and it did not work; any suggestions?
You use the cord that came with your iPod and connect the cord to your iPod and computer
If you have synced your iPod with your iMac, you will still be able to use iTunes on your Windows computer, though if you want to sync your iPod with your Windows computer, you will need to reformat the iPod to work with the Windows platform. This means everything on your iPod will be deleted. You can only use your iPod with one operating system at a time.
I believe they use a Dell computer
Yes, you can use a Dell computer for a remote backup. You can use Dell DataSafe Online Backup to safely save your backup in a remote location to be accessed when you need to.
Any USB printer will be easy to install and use on your Dell computer.
intentionally you cant but if you sign in on the new computer with your old account and click the file share "on" button you will be able to access all of your files on your olther computer. Or you can use an ipod to computer transfer program to help.I personally use this iPad/iPhone/iPod to Computer Transfer. It helps me to transfer my songs/videos/photos/playlists etc from ipod to my computer directly and safely. It works well for me.
of course you can!
if the Dell computer has USB ports, then all you would need is the USB-iPod cable and download/install iTunes. If you system is really old and only have serial ports (9-pin male ports) and no USB ports, then you would need to get a PCI USB card installed into your system. Do not use Serial-USB adapters, as they do not always work.
Use the cable that came with the iPod Touch to connect it to the computer, and the iPod must be on for it to charge.
Depending on what version of the ipod determines what is absolute necessary to use an ipod product. The older ipod touches and nanos and other types of ipods need headphone/earphones to be able to listen to the ipod. They also might need a computer to download music on to the device.
That depends on what you use the computer for.
