Coolant is put into your 325i by way of the coolant overflow tank. Its made of white plastic and is located in the engine compartment on the driver's side near the strut mount. When refilling your engine coolant you will have to "burp" it. That means getting the air bubble out of the system. To do this properly cover the top of your alternator with some clear packing tape. Then fill your coolant overflow tank and start the motor. Let the engine run and keep adding fluid as the tank level starts to decrease. Once the engine warms up the thermostat will open and the level should drop more. Add more fluid. Take an 8mm wrench and loosen the bolt at the top of the thermostat housing right below the fuel pressure regulator. Leave it unscrewed until fluid runs out. It will land on your alternator wich is why I said you should tape it up first. Once fluid comes out your car is burped. Retighten the 8mm bolt. Add more fluid if needed and put the cap back on.
