I bought my '83 on eBay about two years ago. It has been a good bike so far. They do have some irhnneet problems that you should be aware of. They are detailed in the first link provided below. The history can be found at Wikipedia. Manuals are available on eBay for $ 20-25 (Buy it now) maybe less depending on condition. Before you put too much money into fixing it up or making repairs, make sure you have read up on some of the problems. The potential and probable repairs that will need to be made will likely be expensive unless you do all of the labor yourself. I decided to get my money's worth out of mine and part it out when the time comes. One hint when doing Google or eBay searches will be to search on sabre v45 to weed out the newer sabres. Also, the '84 model changed to a 700cc and received some body and electrical changes. Most of the '82 and '83 parts are interchangeable. You can also swap most of the engine parts with the Magna v45.
PAG, the same as any other R134a air conditioning system.
Are you referring to the AC compressor? If so, it's probably a job for a professional, as the refrigerant must legally be handled by a licensed shop. FriPilot

No, you do not have to remove the engine.
The system is very dirty from the first compressor that went out....... If you just replaced the a/c compressor without changing the expansion tube, the accumulator and flushing out the complete system then it will never work correctly......
