On a 1999 Ford Explorer ( using the factory jack ) Front tire ( there are " hooks " on the front of the lower control arms ) Rear tire ( under the axle tube , below the leaf spring )
On a 2000 Ford Explorer : Using the factory jack : Front tire ( there are hooks / bars on the fronts of the lower control arms ) Rear tire ( under the axle tube below the leaf spring )
To change a front tire, place the jack directly behind the tire. To change a back tire, place the jack directly in front of it. Try to get the jack under the tire axis.
The tire jack is supposed to be under the spare tire , in the well in the trunk area
If it's not in a spot, which is really convenient to the spare, or new tire, then just keep it stowed in the back.
Just in front of the right rear tire about where the notch is for the jack. Easy to change.
This information is found in your owner's manual and where the jack is stored. I don't have the original jack or owners manual.
You can lower it with the help of a mechanic. You can take it out and then place it onto the empty part.
Deftly hidden under the spare tire.
To change a tire on the Ford Focus, first pry the wheel cover from the center of the wheel. Then, remove the lug nuts from the wheel. Then, using a jack, lift the vehicle so that the wheel that you want to remove is off of the ground. Lift the tire and wheel off of the lug nuts.
