I'm fourteen how should i know
<~ please don't answer then!
Anyways the spot for filling the transmission is under the air box, its a red cap which unscrews. now to check if you ve added enough theres a plug behind the engine on the underside which if no fluid comes out you need to add some until it does come out.and put plug back in when done. OR you can take it to a quick change service station.
When changing fluids in a car, it is important to know the fluid capacity of the car. A 1999 Pontiac Grand AM holds about 5 quarts of transmission fluid.
DextronIII
It doesn't have one but they can check the transmission fluid at any place that does oil changes
I have a 1999 Grand am se and it dont have a dipstick but it do have a red transmission fluid top on the right side of the 3400 sign that could be unscrewed but it don't have anything on it to check the fluid but you could stick your finger in it to see if its anything in it
All of the transmission fluid is inside the transmission. There is no external reserve.
trans fluid
you need to change the fluid. my 99 grand am does that, it feels like you're shifting a manual from 1st to 2nd.
hell no
you cant do it without the fulshing machine go to a mr lube or can tire an they will do a tranny flush for 100 bucks
Possibility of fluid foaming and eventual transmission failure
On a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis : The automatic transmission fluid level dipstick is in the engine compartment , near the firewall , towards the passenger side of the engine
