it depends - if it's an automatic transmission you can add directly to the dip stick tube - if it's a manual transmission you can find a plug underneath the vehicle on the side of the trans (usually there is a drain plug and an add plug) - best bet is just take it to an oil change shop - they can probably do it in 5 minutes.
