There should be a vacuum port on the back of the intake, behind the carburetor. It has to have vacuum on it at all times.
I'm pretty sure the transmission is integrated into the computer so throwing a different tranny in will cause you problems. YES IT WILL WORK YOU WILL HAVE TO HOOK THE VAC.
