You'll have a total of three fuel lines associated with this saw. The line, in the tank, with the fuel filter attached goes to the fuel pump side fitting of the carburetor. The line, in the tank, that is about only an inch or so in the tank is the return line and originates at the "out" nipple of the primer bulb. And the third and last line goes from the "in" nipple of the primer bulb to the carburetor fitting furthest away from the fuel pump side. Note that the fuel pump side of the carburetor is the side that integrates the throttle idle speed screw." That return fuel line is a booger if you don't have to replace the main fuel line. The orifice is hidden from view UNDER the hole for the main line. However, I got it replaced and the old McCulloch works fine again.
under the car, it runs from the gas tank to the fuel rail on the intake manifold.
You will need the special fuel line tools available cheap at your local autoparts store.
Follow the fuel line forward from the fuel tank to the fuel pump and look for the filter. If you do not find it, then follow the fuel line from the fuel pump mounted on the engine block to the carburetor. If you do not find it, then your Rambler may have the filter mounted at the fuel line intake on the carburetor itself. If you see a large bolt type connection at the fuel intake of the carburetor, the filter is located behind that bolt. Slowly and carefully remove that bolt with the proper tool and you will find a cartridge type filter that is spring loaded. If you buy the filter first then you will know what type it has. In-line or cartridge.Follow the fuel line forward from the fuel tank to the fuel pump and look for the filter. it is passenger side below the intake mounted in fuel line by the frame
fuel intake filter inside of gastank is collapsed. Remove the fuel intake line from the fuel pump and blow the filter open with a high pressure air hose.
on the driver side you have to remove the intake hose, follow the fuel line going to the fuel rail and you'll find it.
In the carb right behind the fuel intake line
It hooks up to the Injector Rail where the injectors are inserted into the Intake Manifold.
under the upper plenum of the intake manifold it is round and is bolted to the fuel line and has a vaccum line attached to it. you need to remove the upper plenum to access it
It attaches on the inside of the intake manifold. Tkes the vortec cover off and then the top cover of your intake mainifold. I know it seems wierd but it is actually a two part intake the will seperat in half. you will then see the4 fuel dilivery system and the fuel lines.
take starting fluid and spray it in the intake if you can keep it runing that way you need a fuel pump are take the fuel line off the intake an turn the key to the on positiot an if fuel comes uot your fule pump works.
