There are MANY prophecies about the coming of "Messiah" throughout the Hebrew Scriptures(Old Testament), and Jesus fulfilled them all during his lifetime.
Here are just a few:
**Messiah would be born in tribe of Judah(Genesis 49:10 / Hebrews 7:14)
**from the line of David (Isaiah 9:7 / Romans 1:3)
**He would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2 / Joh 7:42)
**to a virgin (Isaiah 7:14 / Matthew 1:22-23)
**His family moved to Egypt after birth(Hosea 11:1/Matthew 2:15)
**Messiah would come humbly, riding on donkey(Zechariah 9:9/John 12:12-15)
**He would teach with illustrations (Psalms 78:2 / Matthew13:11-13, 31-35)
**He would not be understood by most (Isaiah 8:14, 15 /Romans 9:31-33)
**Betrayed for 30 pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12/ Matthew26:15)
**He was glorified by God for his faithfulness (Psalm 2:7/Hebrews 5:5)
...and many more...
We are now awaiting the fulfillment of more 'recent' prophecy, when Jesus will come again, this time in "Kingdom power", to end the wickedness on earth:
(Matthew 25:31-33)
the bible
This occurs only in parts of the Bible. The Old Testament comprises the majority of the Bible, written before Jesus was born. The New Testament has portions in which Jesus is to have said that one can only come to God the Father through him (thus achieving salvation).
