Under hood, center, upper engine area, mounted in intake manifold.I have the same truck. Follow the hose on the left hand side that is on the engine cap that goes to the back of the "carb" disconnect the hose and there it is.. I had the same problem

If carburetor model,then get rid of it and get a32/36 weber carb,get it from weber carb. direct .com,you cant find them no cheaper,must get carb.,kit,it will change your vacuum lines,but they don't give you the diagram,but I have it,not many Nissan truck owners know how to do it ,just go to you tube and look up 85 Nissan 720 and you will see some nissans with the weber carb. and they are seeking carb. idle problem solutions,but the mechanics at the Nissan dealer here told me when I took my 85 Nissan to them with carb. problems that the stock carb. cant be rebuilt cause its a 2 part carb. and its problemsome,i had 3 different businesses try to rebuild it and couldn't,this was one time i should have went to Nissan first,my weber is so bad,it also sounds good,if you need one,i have a extra one.if interested,post another ad here and we will exchange numbers,cool.
