there is no pilot bushing/bearing for the Geo Storms '90-'93 manual transaxle.
I'd stick with Amsoil gear lube for passenger cars.
It should. To better check, go to local parts store and check the Haines Manual...is should be for both Geo Metro and Geo Storm, just check that is bolts up the same.

75-90 weight gear oil
Yes, that is how they are made
top died senter the markes should mach up
The Manual stated the approx fluid capacity is 1.9 liters (2 quarts). They recommended using MT oil # 12345349 or equivalent, it was suggested to me this is to be 5W motor oil, not gear oil.
Just go to autoparts and ask them. They have gear oil for manual transmissions
look into chiltonsonline.com or get yourself a haynes repair manual at any autopart store.!
Many manual transmissions use ATF instead of traditional gear oil. Perhaps you can drain a small amount to see if it is ATF or gear oil if you do not have the owner's manual.
In a manual transmission between the gears. If one fails it will make it very difficult or impossible to shift in to the lower gear, i.e. if the 2nd gear synchronizer goes out you cant shift from 3rd to 2nd gear
