I myself am a Fierro. The name originally comes from Italy, then moved on somehow to Spain. The name was brought South America when the continent was ruled by Spain, and that's basically the very general origins of the name. Also, Fierro means "steel" in spanish.

Fierro is the Spanish version of "Ferro", the Italian last name. They both derive from the Latin "Ferrum" which means Iron.

The last name Fierro is of Spanish origin, meaning "iron" or "strong." It likely originated as a nickname for someone who was tough or resilient. The name could also have been derived from a profession, such as blacksmithing or metalworking.
