I changed out the water pump in my 1999 deville. Once you remove the old water pump there is a circle with a hump at the top (forming a saggin water balloon shape) on the casing. It is a just big enough to place the seal in but very hard to get to stay. I out it on then had the water pump and special tool ready to put on so the seal did not fall out.

i don t know. how do u seal a water pump?
Water leaking from the seal
the water pump seal is worn out you need a new water pump
A water leak at the water pump area of a 1997 Mitsubishi Lancer during stops may indicate a failing water pump seal or gasket that only manifests under certain pressure conditions. When the engine is running, the pump's operation may temporarily seal the leak, but when the engine stops, pressure changes can cause coolant to escape. Additionally, a small crack in the pump casing or a loose hose connection could also lead to leaks when the system is not under pressure. It's advisable to inspect the water pump and surrounding components to identify and address the issue.
It could be your water pump seal
To change the water pump seal on a KTM 85, first drain the coolant and remove the water pump cover by unscrewing the bolts. Then, take out the old seal and clean the sealing surfaces thoroughly. Install the new seal, ensuring it sits flush, and reassemble the water pump cover with new gasket if necessary. Finally, refill the coolant and check for leaks.
This leak indicates a seal failure and requires replacement of the water pump .
No. A leaking coolant pump is caused by a worn seal inside the pump. You will have to replace the pump.
This indicates the inner seal is bad and the water pump must be replaced.
It could,It could,
Even if you have changed the seal, the water pump could still leak if the bearings are shot. Also, the water pump itself could be cracked.?æ
