The Quapaw Indians originated out of Pine Bluff Arkansas in the 1700s, they lived near the mouth along the Mississippi river, they built huts, and gathered wood to build fire to cook food, which they would hunt and kill deer to eat. Also they made their blankets,by picking cotten and also heavy quilts would keep them warm in the winter time. The Quapaw Indians would look at the moon and know when the rain is coming, at that time they would chant,"(pray) for the rain to stop. when sickness would fall up on one of them, The witch Doctor would sing and dance and wave incense at the same time, plus they would make their own medcine, one of the name of them was campher oil. I am telling this story because i believe my great grandmother was related to this tribe. I also looked up ;on the web a plantation that was called the Robert Pruitt plantation, Which was also located in Pine Bluff Arkansas during the 1700s the owner of the plantation was named Mr. Blackwell he owned black slaves. I believe that are ancesters on my mother side of the family came from the Quapaw tribe which are related to the Sue Indians.
