Are Ganges River Dolphins tricky to spot or would you often see them on river cruises?

You'd have to do a pretty specialist trip to see them. There are some excellent riverboat trips on the Ganges. It's not something we do as they tend to be pretty high-end. We just see the Ganges at Varanasi. Great place but no self-respecting dolphin would be keen of swimming there.

Did people think that bathing in the river Nile would bring them good luck?

I've not heard of this and given the pollution in places coupled with the water parasites, ticks etc and creatures like the crocodile, I would suggest that bathing in the Nile could be anything but lucky.

Why is the Ganges river a sacred place for hindus?

Hindus consider the Ganges as a holy river because they believe that the Ganges had been sent by the god Shankar, because he was pleased by a sage who wanted the region to have water. The river had came from heaven, so if they worship the river it would not dry. They bathe in the river because it is considered to remove all the curses and sins of life.
