During the fall of Saigon in 1975, not 1973, people were evacuated from rooftops in various locations in Saigon, now known as Ho Chi Minh City. Helicopters were used to evacuate both American officials and staff as well as South Vietnamese civilians who were at risk of persecution by the North Vietnamese forces.
