There are places in the Old Testament where is says that a man lived 120 years, 400 years, 600 years, and in the case of Methuselah, 900 years. Modern Biblical scholarship holds that this was a reference to the accumulation of their wisdom as opposed to the average man - not a precise reference to their age.
Genesis 6:3(NIV)Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."Psalm 90:10 (New International Version)10 The length of our days is seventy years- or eighty, if we have the strength;yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away
