there is no timing belt sensor, only camshaft position sensors and crankshaft position sensor.

The crankshaft position sensor is located on the front of the transmission case next to the fly wheel on Kia's from 2000 to 2005. On Kia's built after 2005 it is located next to the outlet assembly and the radiator hose inlet.
I changed only the camshaft position sensor on my 2000 Kia Sportage. So I don't think so.
