Motorcraft MERCON ATF
From the transmission fluid level dip stick. Remove the stick, use a funnel (the tube is very small, about 1/2 inch diameter), fill in the ATF
Add atf through dip stick that u check the levels
The type of Automatic Transmission Fluid to use is engraved into the fluid level dipstick ( or indicated on the dipstick handle ) for the automatic transaxle ( transmission )
On the engine block behind the radiator. If the car is AT then just behind the ATF check stick. Byron
drain the gearbox and refill with ATF the valves in the gearbox stick due to dirty ATF.
Generally, Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles use Mercon ATF. For your 1993 Mercury Villager, use Mercon IV or Mercon V automatic transmission fluid. The additives in IV and V supercede any and all of the additives that are in the previous Mercon ATFs that may have previously been recommended for use in your vehicle. Hope this helps! Unsure of validity of above statements. The Mercury Villager is NOT a Ford vehicle. While it might look like a Ford Windstar, it is actually a Nissan (Quest, I believe). Mercon Transmission fluid is not suitable for most Asian cars.
