Gujrat a state in the west of India is famous for the Asiatic Lions found there. Gujrat is the only known natural habitat of Asiatic Lions in the world. Gir Forest National Park is famous for the Asiatic Lions.

In 2010, there were an estimated 400 lions left in the wild in India, specifically in the Gir Forest National Park in the state of Gujarat. These lions represent the last remaining population of Asiatic lions in the world. Efforts are being made to conserve and protect this critically endangered species.
