My canister was in the Left Rear fender well. Right behind the taillight. You
must jack the car up, remove the LR wheel, then using your 4 foot long left
arm, feel behind the tail light. Most often the hoses are dry and loose fitting.
Replace them if you can. You should also replace the valve on top of the
canister because once you replace the canister, you will probably never
visit this area of your car again.
There is a bolt that holds the canister to the inside of the fender well. You
should unplug the electrical connector on the valve on top of the canister,
then disconnect the hoses that connect to the top of the canister. Once you
have removed all these, you can remove the bolt holding the canister, and
bring the canister out into the sunlight.
Replace all the hoses if you can, then install your new $85.00 canister back
in place and connect the hoses and electrical plug.
Because of its location, this can be a very frustrating job. You need the hands
of a child, on 4 foot arms, and double joints.
