Ghandi was a Hindu and, as a Hindu, his body was cremated. Ghandi's ashes were scattered in the Holy Triveni Sangam at Allahabad. Some remnant ashes were scattered by a family member off the coast of South Africa in 2010.
Where Gandhi was cremated at Raj Ghat, Delhi, India, there is now a memorial. It is near the Yumuna River, around Ring Road.
