After Jesus Christ's death on the cross, Joseph of Arimathea went to Pilate to request the body, then Joseph and Nicodemus took the body down off the cross and wrapped it in fine linen and spices, then they placed it in the tomb that had been prepared for Joseph. This tomb, or cave if you will, had a large stone placed in front and a squad of solders stationed around it to prevent the theft of his body.
On the morning of the third day, Sunday, Jesus was resurrected, spirit, soul and body from the tomb. His tomb was empty, his body was resurrected not stolen. He appeared bodily to the women who went to anoint his body, to the disciples and to 500 of his followers. These followers touched, saw, and heard him. Then after 40 days with them Jesus was taken up into heaven bodily in a cloud as his disciple had so testified in the four gospels of the Bible.
So Jesus is now at the right hand of the Father in heaven and he is praying for his followers who have believed in him.
