The location of a VIN on a 1999 through 2007 Honda 400EX is on the front frame. It is located just behind the front bumper.
It is located on the frame of the bike, behind the headlight. The VIN is stamped permanently into the metal, vertically along the side of that area. There is also a horizontal sticker which appears, giving the year of manufacture, VIN and other info in print form. Since the sticker sometimes fades or otherwise is rubbed off, the VIN, as stamped into the frame is the most reliable. From experience so far, there is never an "O" as in "orange" in the VIN... anything which appears to be an "O" is always a number 0 (zero).
The vin is stamped on the neck tube on the left side of the of the bike. The left side is left as sitting on the bike.
Inside the front left tire. you have to cut ompen the tire to see it.
