Fuel pump Mazda 626The way I did it was remove the back seat and there is a panel under the lining, unclip wires and loosen bolts!
On a 1988 Mazda 626, the fuel pump relay is located in the fuel tank. Always disconnect the battery before beginning work on a fuel system.
On a 1997 Mazda 626 4-cyl, the (electric) fuel pump is located inside the gas tank.
You have to remove the fuel tank the fuel pump is located on top of the fuel tank.
If you're looking for a fuel pump inertia switch, the Mazda 626 does not have an inertia switch like the fords use. The only parts that control the fuel pump are the pcm, fuel pump relay, and the fuel pump fuse.

Is it a V6, if it is then the fuel pump is located inside the gas tank. You have to drop the gas tank down and remove it from the tank itself.
It should be located in the trunk on the drivers/passengers side.
