No, because of geology. In fact there is only minimal production of emerald in all of North America; the pinnacle of production would be North Carolina. Beryl is common enough, even blue and pink beryl have been found in fabulous specimens in various US states, but the green variety called emerald is most unusual in North America. Beryl can be found in alluvial deposits from erosion out of pegmatite veins. This is the easy way, sorting through sand and gravel. The hard way is to attack the granitic pegmatite with tools and see what's inside.
