'Where is ignition coil 2 in a 1998 Nissan maxima'?
under the coil
Change The coil ,, and its bettert to change it all
yes they will you will need lifters on the coil springs for clearance though
A 96 maxima does not have "a distributor" it has 6 individual distributors or coil packs. One for each cylinder/spark plug. They are on the top side of the spark plugs.
Your coil-packs are what deliver spark to your spark plug. This way there is no need for the old distributor style stuff. Plus it's a lot easier to replace a coil-pack than it is to replace a distributor
Indeed, cylinder #4 is located in the middle closest to the radiator when facing the engine, logically the coil is located in the same spot. You will have to remove the cover to have access to the coil, you should also replace all the spark plugs once your at it if you haven't done so. I don't know why Nissan doesn't recall this problem since it is very common an all V6 3000 engines, specially on the 2000 models. I had to replace cylinder coil #5 on my maxima.
autozone.com click repair on the right, and follow the directions. Then click engine electrical, then ignition system.
1995 Nissan maximas do not have dist caps they have individ coil packs on top of the v covers
what is the proper position of ignition coil for 2004 Nissan sentra 1.8s?
Directly under the throttle body.
Ignition coil 4 is the center coil (plug) on the bank closest to the radiator. FYI, #1 is passenger side, closest to firewall, #3 is center, firewall, #5 is driver's side firewall, etc. Good luck.
