Prop the bike up so that the softtail sits level. Remove the oil filler cap. Remove the drain plug, located at the rear of the transmission cross member. Remove the oil filter case and the filter. Replace the filter and reinstall the drain plug. Fill the bike with fresh oil to the proper level.

There is no drain on the engine you have to drain the oil tank and then remove a hose turn the bike over to get the oil out of the crank case (dont let it run too long).
