The fuel filter on a 1988 Ford Festiva is located on the drivers side lower fire wall. The bracket is typically to rusted that you may wish to consider relocating the filter, or just putting in an aftermarket in-line filter.

Here is a picture showing the fuel filter on a 1998 ford festiva trio. It is near the battery. http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/6351festiva1998fuelfilter2yn6.jpg
It is located in the trunk. Look on the right side plastic panel.
Either change fuel filter or fuel pump...
on my 1988 ford ranger (2.3L, 5sp), the fuel filter is behind the driver's front wheel on the inner side of the frame. it's kind of easy to find by following the fuel lines from the tank.
Behind the alternator. Get under car driver's side, look up and you will see it sticking out of the engine block.
ford festiva stopped while driving it has fuel and power it just wont turn over
Mounted on top and inside the fuel tank.
Depends on the year, but for a 90' festiva you can get them for $30 on rockauto. this is for a remanufactured part.
In the inlet fuel line in the carb. Remove fuel line and then the larger fitting behind, filter should be right there
The fuel filter should be an inline type. There is a clip on ache end. Pull the clips off and the filter can be removed. Be careful that fuel does not spray on you, as the fuel is under pressure.
