There are 2 fuel pumps. 1 in-line high pressure electronic pump (near drivers door area underneath, on the frame rail area). The 2nd (electronic) pump is in the gas tank, connected to the fuel pump assembly (pressure pump) . There are also 2 fuel filters; 1 in-line, a high pressure pump area and 1 in the black round in-line catch can, that sometimes has a filter in it. There is also a fuel pump relay switch (under hood near battery area). There's 2 together (not sure what other 1 is for), should click when key is turned; and a fuel pump inertia cut off switch (passenger floor, behind kick panel area). Instead of removing gas tank on my RV 89 ford e350 460 mtr. to get at the tank pump, I cut a hole through the floor. To get at the top of tank and replace it that way, took about 1 hr. I just did all of this on my RV. I hope this works for you.

You are getting fuel by pumping it, but the fuel pump is not running. Go to the underside and pull off the fuel line some where, turn the key and see if fuel comes out. There are several places you can check and probably a filter or two. Check multiple places and before and after any filters. If the fuel pump is like mine, in the rear tank, it is electric. If no fuel, or very little comes out, it is either the pump or the relay unit to the pump. That is assuming there are no messed up fuel lines. It is a good idea to replace in-line and carb fuel filter anyway. If it is a fuel pump, you will likely have to drop the tank, or cut an access hole in the floor of your RV to pull the pump out. The parts are not expensive. After all my work today where I have repalced everything, I think that it is the fuel pump relay. I bought one, but I need to try and find where it is located. All of the filters, pump, relay should total less than $100. The pump is the most expensive, so buy it last. I will check in later if I find where the fuel pump relay is located. Craig

The fuel pump relay for the 1986 Class C RV with the 460 gas engine (7.5L) is located inside the engine compartment above the driver side head light. The inertia switch is by the passengers right foot behind the panelling. Thehere is also an oil pressure switch that will kill power to the fuel pumps if there is no oil pressure. This switch is on top of the engine on the aft section of the engine. If you don't find the relay on the driver side, look behind the passenger side headlight. That is where it is located on my 86 e350. You have to pull the headlight out to get to it.

If it's anything like the chasis on my 1984 ford e350 ambulance, I have two gas tanks and the sending unit is inside both of them. You can get the whole assembly (holds the fuel pump, etc) or if you're lucky, you might be able to find just the actual switch that connects to the float within the tank. Either way, they are inside of the gas tank. If you do a search at auto zone.com they will have pictures.

If this is a diesel, try looking on the inside of the frame directly under the driver's seat. There should be a bracket bolted to the frame which has the fuel pump attached to it.

I would check for vacuum leaks around the intake or hoses & check wires going to the automatic choke.other than that I had A dodge ram charger that did something similar . found out it was the hose on the fuel pump inside the fuel tank. hope you solve it good luck.

Some fuel pumps are located in the fuel tank,if you do not locate it allong the frame rail,it is probably in the tank. Look for wires going to the top of the fuel tank (use a mirror and a flashlight.
