after finding out which of the four hoses is leaking, you buy a new one and replace it.
remove the air box and the battery. the starter is held by 2 14mm bolts. the main power line is connected by a 12mm nut. there is a 1 wire connector to the solenoid.
yes they do... use dexron 3 friendly atf in your lexus power steering only... do not use power steering fluid!!! or you will be buying a new pump and rack and pinion... not to mention corroded hoses...
I have the exact same issue on our 1996 ES300..My suspicion is that it is indeed the switch
1994 Lexus ES300 are factory specified to allow for the use of automatic transmission fluid (ATF) as power steering fluid. Toyota most current specification for ATF is T-IV, which can safely be used. The Toyota part# for their factory Japanese PS fluid is 08886-01206.
On the left and slightly below the steering wheel, next to the buttons to adjust the side mirrors. It says "power door."
I have a 1997 ES 300 Lexus and my belt that controls the power steering when out, what is the name of that belt (and I thought I would just replace the other one as well, as they have 2) and the bigger belt so I can get pricing? You either have a battery that has a dead cell and needs replacing or something is on pulling power from the battery. Can be any light on the vehicle or a stuck relay. In rare instances a defective alternator can cause this.
