Where was targeted in the greenock blitz?

Round about where the battery park was because there was an amunition factory and also the shipyards which was one of the most important in Britain at tyhe time. I am also not sure but the Faz lane naval base may have been there at the time and that is just acros the water from greenock so it is possible that the Germans were actually aiming for there but missed. When I was researching this recently, I came across a good local history site, it's on the GREENOCK BLITZ. Great, very thorough. It shows photographs fom the blitz and then beside it, is a modern day shot, so you're able to understand where the war time location will be today. There's also stuff about the blitz raids and a list of all the casualties and everything.

Did the elgin marbles get moved in World War 2?

Yes. They were loaded aboard the HMS Rodney in May 1941 when the ship was sent to the Boston Navy Yard. The treasures were on the battleship when it engaged the Nazi battleship Bismarck. The battle exhausted the HMS Rodney's fuel, and it rebunkered in Greenock, Scotland. The Rodney thus replenished sailed for Halifax N.S., where presumably the marbles were removed. It then embarked for Boston for a much needed refit, which commenced on June 12, 1941.
