Not 100% sure about the '87, but there is no PCV valve on the 1986 Volvo 240 2.3L. Flame trap and Oil trap, but no PCV.
It is on the lower-left of the engine. It is infront of the exhaust manifold, but below the water pump on the lower corner of the engine.
Up through 87 the relay was located behind the ashtray behind the fuses. 88 and up, the relay panel is accessed from the passenger side panel on the side of the center concol. If earlier version, relay "I" - if behind side panel, relay "G".
They're almost always ATE. The Girlings were on the early cars (up to '84), and even then rarely.
In an automatic there is a transmission shift relay that is behind your upper dash vents and can be seen just right of the glove box once you have it removed. It should be white in color with, IIRC, 6 prongs. More than likely that would be your culprit. I just went through this on my 87.
Volvo 240 Fuel Pump Relay diagnoseI'm not certain where it is in your year... but in my 1991 240 dl sedan it's under the glove box side of the dash... (in an 87 240 DL it's under the kickboard, left of the brake)I had a terrible time every summer before I figured it out.. car would just crank and not run.. sometimes even in wet damp weather or humid weather. Finally on the net I read on the "Brickboard" that a guy had the same trouble with 6 volvo's he rebuilt and never was it the computer...You can tell if the relay is bad if you don't hear that 2 second humm when you turn the ignition key to the on position... if you don't hear it the contacts are stuck in the wrong position or burnt. I hit the relay with my knuckle and in my case it worked again until I could replace it ( a couple of days later.)there is also a way to over ride the relay by using a jumper relay to get the fuel pump to run without it but putting the jumper in the correct holes of the relay.. which I don't know... but!!!! it will make the fuel pump run continuously..even when you turn the car off.. so don't do this unless you know you'll have to disconnect it when you stop.If you don't get the Humm with the key in the on position I bet the relay is BAD. You can order one online from a place like "Thepartsbin.com" or other place... about 40 bucks these days.Hope this info helps.

where is the relay located on a 87 lesabre
On a 120 v supply 87 watts is 87/120 amps, while on a 240 v supply 87 watts is 87/240 amps. <<>> There are zero amps in 87 watts. Watts are the product of amps times volts. Without a voltage value for the following equation I = W/E, Amps = Watts/Volts, an answer can not be given.
no
Where is the choke relay located on a 87 Chevy caprice?
