Gap to plug not the car, .0028-.0045"?
Most of the Volvo 240's FM 1983 -1991 use .028.....but just call any auto parts store and they will be glad to help.........
The correct spark plug is a Champion RCJ8Y.
The 1989 Volvo was offered in the model 244 with a 2.3L L4. The gap for this application depends on the spark model and electrode material. Iridium and platinum plugs for the application come pre-gapped from the factory.
Champion DJ7Y (gap of 0.025")
you need to check to the plug, not the car... depending on fuel, turbo boost (if any) weather and engine wear a good number is somewhere between .0028" and .0043" for NGK, .0030" for Bosch, and .0036" for Denso Iridium.
My 1992 Nissan 240 sx is 038
Look at Volvo "Green Book" link includedThe plug wire socket closest to #1 cylinder. The second wire goes to its right, to cylinder #3, and then 4 then 2. It is easiest to think of the cylinders 1-2-3-4 from left to right on your radio dial. Then think of a dice with the 5 showing. Upper left is number 1, upper right is 2, lower right is 3 and lower left is 4. I also found a link to Volvo "green" books- aka service manual that has a great diagram, follow the link.
long answer: yes
Yes the 240 does have fuses. Was that your ?.
how do adjust timing belt on a volvo 240 DL ?
Lefty loosey, righty tighty. So in other words, turn the plug counterclockwise to remove it.
