Inside the distributor on my 94 B250 is a plastic piece that covers the bottom of the distributor. Ihas a wire coming out of it. On it, it has a mark and says number one cylinder, or something like that. But it is there.
umm, 8?
number one wire will point to the number one cylinder
no1 on the distributor always points towards the no one cylinder
Easiest way to find it is to set #1 piston at TDC and remove the distributor cap to see where the rotor is pointing. It should be pointing to #1 cylinder position in relation to the distributor cap.
Distributor- 4-3-2-1- timing belt 34 12 (looking at distributor firing order)
If you look at the distributor of the car, sometimes they are marked with the cylinder number on the cap. Find number 1 and follow the spark plug cable to the spark plug. That will be No. 1 cylinder.
Yes the rotor should be pointing to the #1 cylinder when you are installing the distributor.
WHEN INSTALING THE DISTRIBUTOR THE ROTARY BUTTON HAS TO BE POINTING AT THE NUMBER 1 CYLINDER AT TDC
If you have spark at all but one plug, the problem is with that plug, wire, cap or rotor.

The #1 cylinder is ALWAYS right front when looking over the radiator. Driver's side front. Can't help you with the distributor. Sorry
