If you have spark at all but one plug, the problem is with that plug, wire, cap or rotor.

Sounds like the bearings or bushings in your distributor are worn. With the cap off, check for any wobble or play on the shaft. If so replace the distributor.

In a 4 cycle engine, top dead center of number one cylinder come up twice in the firing cycle, putting the distributor in with the piston at "TDC" may be 180 degrees out.Note the position of both the distributor and the distributor rotor button.Pull the distributor.Rotate the rotor button 180 degrees.Reinstall the distributor.Good luck.
