At this point I would do a compression check. If you find a cylinder 15% or more lower than the rest you probaby have a valve problem in that cylinder.
The distributor cap is located where the spark plugs cables are connected .They go from the motor to the distributor cap.
Check the carburetor, fuel pump, spark plugs, distributor.
Check fuel pump, filter, relay switch, fuses, etc. or spark plugs, wires and distributor cap.
try to get a new ignition rotor
Could be a bad ignition coil Could be a bad distributor cap or rotor
Coil?
Because the replacement distributor and spark plugs wont fire correctly if it installed in any other position.
To much resistance in the spark plug wires. Start fresh with a new distributor cap, rotor and spark plug wires. Also be sure you have the correct spark plugs installed.
Yes, any of those can cause a no spark problem.
probably needs tune up. plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, button, maybe coil
The spark travels from the coil to the distributor then from the distributor to the plugs. So if you have spark going into the distributor but not coming out to the plugs, I would blame the distributor cap and rotor being at fault.
My 93 camry has no power from the distributor to the spark plugs. The car unable to start.
An electronic ignition tells the spark plugs when to fire to ignite the fuel. In older cars this was done mechanically by means of a distributor and rotor button.
check/change the ignition components(plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor button)
Have you checked all of the High Tension leads from the distributor to the plugs, or just one or two? Same with HT lead from Coil to Distributor, Check Distributor cap for cracks
If it has a distributor, check the rotor button for a burn mark underneath. The high energy coil will sometimes burn a hole through it causing the fire to ground. Replace rotor button.
I would replace distributor cap & rotor button, plugs & wires, and if necessary distributor. Also, check your ignition timing, if you broke a timing chain you wouldn't have any spark.
