The block heater, on your 2001 C 15 Caterpillar diesel engine, can be removed by loosening the retaining nut. The block heater will easily come out. Reverse the process to install the new heater.

Inside the heater motor housing Remove the two spring clips holding the heater motor in Remove wiring connections and then remove the heater motor. Install new heater motor and installation is in the reverse order of above.

first remove the window wiper arms then remove the plastic trim this will reveal the heater motor, then unclip the electrics and the unbolt the motor (on some cars you have to remove the wiper motor to take out the heater motor)
