Inside the transmission...what it does is makes it change gears at certain times, this is done by using vacuum from the engine to control the valve body, and when it goes bad you,ll know it,it wont change gears good ,and it may pull Transmission Fluid in from it and burn it through the engine also, this will create a white smoke from it,but it will not change gears right you may also notice a slight miss-fire at idle because of it being bad or a higher idle, those are the most common symptoms of a bad one. Chrysler doesn't use a vaccumm modulator valve on any of its transmissions.
if this is a v6, unless your car has California emissions, there is no EGR valve.

A 1993 Jeep does not have a transmission modulator valve.
NO IT DOES NOT.
The At modulator valve is located on the side of the transmission between the transmission tunnel. you may have to lower transmission to get to it.
On the Ford A4LD automatic transmission the modulator valve is on the passenger side of the transmission ( it might be behind a heat shield )
If your car has one, take the vacuum line to the modulator off and if there is fluid inside, the modulator is bad.
There is no such thing on a spirit.
I recently changed the E.G.R. valve on my 1990 Dodge Spirit 2.5L (non-turbo). Now it is quiet @ idle & starts right up. I also notice an improvement in the gas mileage. Good Luck.
yes 1987-1994 will work
I believe it's on the passenger side of the transmission behind a heat shield
