Mostly places in the Middle East. China and Japan are prime examples of places were you can't hardly express your religion, especially Christianity.

Answer 2:

Countries under Islamic law make it difficult for citizens to practice minority faiths. In recent news (March 2011), the Minorities Minister of the Pakistani government, a Christian named Shahbaz Bhatti, was assassinated after speaking out against the nation's "blasphemy laws," which are said to be used to persecute non-Muslims.

Some Muslims in the United States would probably say that it has become difficult to practice their religion there today, because of the widespread prejudice against Muslims because of 9/11 and other incidents of Islamic terrorism.

According to the organization Open Doors, the top 10 countries in which Christians are persecuted as of 2011 are North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Maldives, Yemen, Iraq, Uzbekistan, and Laos.

The opposition to Christianity in some countries seems to be in part because Christians aim to convert others to their religion. Missionary activities by Christians are banned in China, although the Christian religion is said to be growing in China nonetheless. Incidents of persecution of Christians by Hindu extremists in India and Nepal are recorded, yet in these places too, Christian worshipers remain undeterred.

I'm not aware of suppression of religion in Japan. The Japanese public seems to appreciate aspects of Christian culture, such as Christian wedding ceremonies and Gospel Music.
