There is only one crank sensor fitted, you may also have a cam sensor. the crank sensor is located either around the bellhousing or around the front crank pulley. It either has 2 or 3 wires. It picks the signal off the revolving crank so look for a sensor in the block near flywheel.
Next to the crank pulley. Held on with 2 10mm bolts.
the crank sensor is on the front side of block by where the trans bellhousing is.pull the cooling fan out and you can get to it is a 2 wire sensor held in by a #27 torx bolt .if you see the cam sensor its right below it.- county line perf.
The distributor is the crank sensor. If the timing belt was changed and the check engine light came on, the shaft that drives the distributor could be out of time.

Hey Kevin==It depends on your engine but I think it is on the fromt by the balancer. GoodluckJoe the crank sensor is on the back of the block above the starter motor It has a green 2-wire connector to it.
Hi # The crank sensor is located in the center above the harmonic balancer on the EF motor. # Mine has 2 white wires attached to a plastic connection which plugs into the crank sensor. Hope this helps. Sam

The crank sensor is on the rear of the motor on the drivers side.It bolts to the bellhousing withe 2 bolts. It looks it has 2 wings on the sides where the bolts go through. It has a 2 wire plug going to it. Its easier to reach from the under side
i need to know. my1996 1600 geotracker engine carries a crank sensor, i am replacing it with a vitara engine but it does not carry a crank sensor. the vitara distributor only has two wires. how do i configure, cause the geo distributor has 7 wires
It's at the front of the engine. The engine sits sideways in the engine bay. The front is looking towards the engine from the right front fender. The crank sensor is at the 10 O'clock position of the crankshaft pulley. It is a rounded sensor pointing towards the teeth on the backside of the crank pulley. It picks up a magnetic signal from the crank pulley and turns it into about a 2 volt sending signal to the computer. Due to the low voltage it is good to check and clean all the wiring on the crank sensor with carburetor cleaner or alcohol.
