and slightly towards the drivers side
On the 4.9 liter straight 6 cylinder , # 1 on the distributor cap faces AWAY from the
engine
1 - 3 - 7 - 2 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 8 The distributor rotor turns COUNTERCLOCKWISE The marked # 1 position on the distributor cap faces to the REAR and slightly towards the drivers side The engine cylinder locations are numbered : 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front
On a 1993 Ford E-150 GASOLINE engine : Follow the spark plug wires to the distributor cap on top of the distributor On the 4.9 liter / 300 cubic inch inline six cylinder engine ( the distributor is on the DRIVERS SIDE of the engine ) On the V8 engines it is ( near the front of the engine on the top of the engine )
1-5-3-6-2-4 Distributor rotates clockwise.

Rear right side of engine in cylinder head.
Usually on passenger side farthest cylinder towards the back of the vehicle
