I have a 1997, and just went through this - yours is probably in the same place.
Try looking all the way behind the engine block, basically up against the firewall, about 15"-18" down. Yeah, pretty much impossible to see - we found it from the side, bent over, squinting between a bunch of hoses and shining a flashlight that direction. Even so, it was almost impossible to spot.
Is there not a lead from the distributor cap that you can follow with your hand? If not, try looking where I described - basically, lean over the engine and get your arm as far down the back as possible and start feeling around. I bet that's it.
Good luck!

You can find the spark plugs for your 2002 Nissan Pathfinder on each side of the engine. The spark plugs will be near the top of the engine. A six-cylinder engine will have three spark plugs on each side.
The spark plugs in a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder should be changed every 100,000 miles. This is a suggestion done by the manufacturer which is Nissan Automobile Company.
