In the filter housing, d/s front of the engine, need a (12-14?) fluted oil filter socket
If its a Diesel, 3.8 litres with new filter.
The oil filter is underneath the engine at the front, theres a black cap with a big moulded nut on it to get it undone(think its 36mm iirc)the filter is inside there, its is a paper element not a metal canister filter. very messy job. (tip: undo the Allen key in the middle of the moulded nut on the filter housing cap and let the oil drain from there before undoing the cap completely using the moulded nut)
You need to remove the cover from the top of the engine and the filter is right there, it's black and about the the size of a coke can.

They say 5w30 but for 15 yr old cars I would use engine flush and change oil for 5w40 or cheaper 10w40 castrol mobil1 valvoline. Make its prefference. When changing oil change filter air filter and fuel filter. Peace!
The oil plug is under the oil filter ...straight bolt ..14 mill..
