The oil filter is underneath the engine at the front, theres a black cap with a big moulded nut on it to get it undone(think its 36mm iirc)the filter is inside there, its is a paper element not a metal canister filter. very messy job.
(tip: undo the Allen key in the middle of the moulded nut on the filter housing cap and let the oil drain from there before undoing the cap completely using the moulded nut)

If the oil pressure light goes on in a MK4 Golf Turbo make sure the oil used is rated from VW. Putting the wrong type of oil in the Golf Turbo continuously can cause the oil pressure warning light to go on.
