Electrical energy and light energy are useful to me in a variety of ways from the machines used to make the food you eat to the energy used to purify the water you drink. The clothes you wear are even dyed different colors from the light energy alone.
Fuel rods are the nuclear fuel in a nuclear power plant. They are used to turn water to steam, which is then used to turn a turbine. They do not "generate energy", since energy cannot be created or destroyed (E=mc^2). They are used to generate electricity, or to convert nuclear energy to electric energy.
A dam is used for hydroelectric energy.
This requires magnets in general. It need not be an electromagnet; sometimes electromagnets are used, sometimes permanent magnets.

Radiant energy is a term that is almost exclusively used for electromagnetic energy. When something is hot, it emits radiant energy. The sun is an obvious example, but all object actually emit radiant energy. The hotter the object, the more energy. Sound does carry energy, but it is not electromagnetic. Objects can emit sound and even "radiate" sound, but the term radiant energy is not normally used for sound.
Radiant energy is the energy of electromagnetic waves. The quantity of radiant energy may be calculated by integrating radiant flux (or power) with respect to time and, like all forms of energy, its SI unit is the joule. The term is used particularly when radiation is emitted by a source into the surrounding environment. Radiant energy may be visible or invisible to the human eye.
