There are so many different types of Panama foods. Some of the popular foods include tortillas, bolos, empanadas, Sancocho and many more.
The Sancocho is a traditional Colombian dish. Similar to Spanish cocido, it's prepared with a variety of meats as beef, chicken or pork; vegetables as carrots and onions, tubers as potatoes and yucca; and spices, everything simmered to get a thick broth or soup.
Popular foods include bandeja paisa which had ground meat, rice, avocado and tomatoes, sancocho de gallina is a chicken soup with plantain. Coconut rice is also popular. For dessert you could have guayaba which is made with guava jelly or tres leche (three milk) cake.

In some parts of the country, a special meal is served. The main dish is called "sancocho" with tamales. The Panamanian dish includes chicken, cilantro and yams. In other parts of the Hispanic world, sancocho may be made out of tripe, potato, corn, butternut squash or beef.
