It doesn't have a gear driven speedometer, it is electronic.>> The "gear" you refer to is called a "tone ring".
Actually it does have one, called a speedometer driven gear, also sometimes referred to as a speed sensor. It is a gear driving an electronic sensor.
It is located next to the rear engine mounting. If you follow the gear oil drain plug upward on the clutch housing, you will find a electronic plug with two wires. Next to it is a bolt, which holds the gear pickup in place. It is in the worst imaginable place. Another way to find it is by removing the air intake filter and pipes. If you have good lighting, you will find it next to the engine mounting. Follow the wiring harness as a guide.
Good luck.

On cold mornings, my 2002 Santa Fe does not shift into 4th gear until the engine warms up, which is usually several blocks from my home but before I reach the main roads outside my subdivision. The car has over 100,000 miles on it, and I don't see this issue as a problem.
Trouble code P0732 means: Gear 2 Incorrect Ratio
Trouble code P0733 means: Incorrect gear ratio, third gear Trouble code P0734 means: Incorrect gear ratio, fourth gear

At the top the speedometer cable is connected to a little gear in the speedometer guage, and on the bottom end it is connected to a little gear in the car's transmission.
The drive gear is in the tail shaft of the transmission. The driven gear is on the end of the speedometer cable housing.
I'm having the exact same problem. Does anyone have any idea, please? I have a Santa Fe 2003, Manual, 2.4 - V4
If it's old enough to have a mechanical speedometer, it'll be in the speedometer itself. If it has an electronic speedometer, there is no speedometer gear - to recalibrate the speedometer to match something like, say, changing tire size would require changing the parameters in the engine ECM.
broken cable? Broken gear at transmission end? Broken gear at speedometer head?
did you check the speedometer gear in the tranny?
