On the right side of the transmission, mounted to the end of the shift rod. The shift rod passes through the transmission from the area where the shift lever is mounted on the left side.
It is located on the transmission.
where do you install a neutral safety switch on a 1996 saturn
The neutral safety switch on a 1996 Chevy Caprice is located on the side of the transmission. It prevents the vehicle from being started unless the transmission is current set to park or neutral.
There is no neutral safety switch it is a clutch position switch ans is loacted in the floor in front of the clutch pedal
Its the same as on all cars. The safety neutral switch is why you cannot start your car in gear.
It does not have a reset.
Probably just an adjustment of the switch.
It's behind the brake peddle
Disconnect the 2 wires on the switch and tie them together
It's located on your clutch pedal. Unplugging the wires going to your pedal over rides it, but this can be dangerous if you're not careful to have it in neutral before hitting your key.
The neutral safety switch is Incorporated with the transmission range sensor(manual lever positioning sensor) on your transmission. It is on the side of the transmission where your shift cable (linkage) is attached to the transmission.
Most likely it is. I have had several neutral safety switch issues before, and it sounds like what happened to me. If you put it in reverse do the reverse lights light up? If not that is also a safety switch problem.
